You may have added a Create card to your post, and noticed that either the Wordpress word count or your SEO plugin (such as Yoast) doesn't seem to be counting the words you've added into your Create card.

There's actually a very simple reason for this.

Create is implemented via a shortcode. A shortcode is exactly what it sounds like - a short version of a code, and it is what allows you to easily insert the Create card into your post.

There's no way for the Wordpress editor or Yoast (or other similar tools) to "see" into Create's shortcode and count your words. For this reason, all the words in your card won't show in that total word count in the backend.

You don't need to worry, though, because once your card is published into a live post, Google can and does count all of the words in your card and add them to your total word count.
